Rachel Hansen is the new Special Project Manager for the Trojan Marching Band. Rachel holds a B.A. in Art and Design from Iowa State University and a master’s in Arts and Cultural Management from Colorado State University.
After her undergraduate years of playing piccolo in the Iowa State University Cyclone Football ‘Varsity’ Marching Band, she served as the student administrative assistant for the band, while also remaining an active member of Kappa Kappa Psi. Thereafter, she transitioned to the role as the Ensembles Assistant of the Iowa State University Department of Music and Theatre. During her time in this position, Rachel was awarded Tau Beta Sigma honorary sistership. Answering the call of the west coast, Rachel moved on to a stint in Long Beach, CA, working for the California State University Summer Arts program as its Operations Administrator. She has also worked as an academic advisor in the College of Design at Iowa State University, advising Interior Design and Industrial Design students.
Beyond her love for marching band and other artistic endeavors, Rachel enjoys helping students find their passion, drinking black coffee, and spending time at the dog beach with her huskyhuahua, Earl.
