Hi, I’m Emily Tutnick and I am the feature twirler here at USC! I am currently earning my Masters in Communication Management with a focus on Media and Entertainment. My experience in twirling includes being a multi-time national champion, US ambassador, Regional athlete representative, and a Team USA member. I chose to go to USC since it was always my dream college. I loved the sense of family and community that I felt the first time I walked down Trousdale. USC also had the academic rigor I desired post-secondary school, in addition to the networking opportunities and prime
location. When I was growing up, I always wanted to work in the entertainment industry, which was the final reason why USC was the college for me! I’ve been twirling since I was 11, so when I chose to attend college, I factored in where I would be happiest in the marching band. The TMB was the perfect fit because we work hard and play hard, plus we’re Hollywood’s Band, which means I’ve been fortunate enough to perform on some of the COOLEST stages! Plus, I couldn’t imagine twirling in any other stadium than the Coliseum! 

I have so many memories from my time in the TMB, so I can’t think of just one. Here are some of my favorites: Performing with Gwen Stefani at the Hollywood Bowl, getting slimed at the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, beating fucla, stanfurd, AND Notre Dame during the 2022 football season, twirling at two (Fight On!) NCAA basketball tournaments, performing on the USS Iowa, and many more! Like seriously, I’m forgetting so many other cool gigs that I’ve done during my time in the TMB!

Fun facts: I am the 2023 Operations Manager for the Spirit of Troy, plus I founded the TMB TikTok page where we post frequently about life in the TMB!
