Drum Major

This is Jacobo Herrera. He is a senior and in his second year as the Drum Major for The Spirit of Troy. He also serves as the 2023 General Manager for the Marching Band. He is majoring in Music Industry for his undergrad and recently got accepted for his Master’s in Arts Leadership, both in the Thornton School of Music. Jacobo has many years of drum major experience, including his senior year of high school and three seasons as a DCI Drum Major for two Drum Corps. Jacobo played trumpet in high school and in his first two years in the TMB. 

When he is not stabbing the field on game days, he can be seen playing trumpet for the Los Angeles Lakers or being a production manager for Trojan Event Services. 

He chose USC because of the endless opportunities the Trojan Network can provide and for the best marching band in the history of the universe! Jacobo’s favorite moment in The Spirit of Troy is the moment he earned the title of Drum Major for the first time and feeling all the support from the entire program!
