Drum Major

Dominic Mendoza

Hey! My name is Dominic Mendoza and I’m a Human Biology major from Brush Prairie, Washington. I’m a 5th year here at USC and this is my 4th year in the TMB.

I chose USC because it excels at everything I care about most: academics, the arts, athletics, and quality of life. It was clear after touring other schools that USC cares more about its students and that the people here were really having a great time. Being here has been the best years of my life and has provided me with countless memories and opportunities, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I grew up playing multiple instruments, including upright/electric bass, guitar, and trumpet. Even though I wasn’t in the TMB my first year, I eventually joined for an opportunity to travel to away games and because the band has an infectious energy at games and other events on campus. Being in the band has given me the chance to continue improving on trumpet in a low-stress environment and make so many new friends while supporting the team, and it’s been such an amazing experience. My favorite memories in the band are traveling to Macau to play for an international conference and going to Japan to play for the Osaka World Expo.

Outside of the TMB, I like to snowboard, explore nature, play video games, go to concerts, and write/play music on my own and in Thornton ensembles.

I’m super excited to represent the Trojan Family as the drum major this year!
