Band Day Logistics

  • Instruments – It is recommended that all of your instruments are brought into the Coliseum in their cases to protect them from any damage, except for tubas and drums. Who wants to lug THOSE cases around?!  Your guard can store their items with your instruments.

  • Uniform bags/bags (participants only) – These can be brought into the Coliseum but are subject to search. Non-Performers will need to follow the clear bag policy listed under General Information.

  • Band Day Field Placement – will be shared via email a week before arrival.

  • Drum Majors of each band will be placed around the perimeter of the field to assist in conducting.

  • Halftime Instructions:
    • Leave your seats in the stadium with 10:00 (10 minutes) left in the second quarter.
    • Enter the field level via the Coliseum Peristyle steps.
    • Once the clock hits 0:00, move quickly to the sideline, where you will enter.
    • The opener will be played towards the West Stands – TMB only
    • Following the opener, there will be a whistle from the ladder to start the process of bringing all bands onto the field.
    • Once on field, visiting bands will perform two charts with the TMB.
    • At the end of the show, there will be a whistle from the ladder, and bands will leave the field using both sidelines, depending on field placement.

  • Concession Stands in the stadium will open 1.5 hours before kick off.

General Information

  • Lunch is on your own. You may choose to eat at the Coliseum Stadium Concession Stands or eat something on your own. Concessions at Gate 4 will be exclusively open to Band Day participants only. All concessions will open when all gates open 90 mins before kick off. You may also use the South Lawn as an area to serve lunch and hang out before gate call time.
  • Cashless Concessions – Concessions are cashless at all venues.
  • Clear Bag Policy – Fans will be able to carry the following styles and bag sizes into the stadium: https://www.lacoliseum.com/beclear/
This applies to all non-performers. All performers may bring bags, but they are subject to search.
  • There are water fountains in the stadium and water bottles are available for purchase. The TMB will not provide bottled water to you. Plan ahead for the well being of your students. Fans are permitted to bring sealed bottles of water into Coliseum Stadium (Bottles and cans of any kind are prohibited inside the Coliseum. Factory sealed bottles of water, 17 oz. or less, are allowed and limited to 2 bottles per person.)
  • Restrooms and First Aid are located throughout the stadium.
  • Please sit in your assigned seats only. Do not “overflow” into adjacent reserved seating sections. Seating information and game tickets will be distributed at check-in based on the numbers you provided.
  • Know that you may leave anytime after the conclusion of halftime if you choose.
  • It is recommended that all bands stay together as much as possible. Students should not be allowed to “roam” the campus by themselves at any time during the day.
  • All instruments will be stored at the top of the Peristyle.
  • Bands should not play anytime around the stadium until it is performance time.
  • Remember, there are others in the stands that came to watch the game. Be courteous of our patrons and represent your school with a great deal of class and pride.
  • Many thanks for bringing your students to what we hope is one of the greatest days in the history of the universe, ever!
