Twirler

Michelle Johnson

Hi, I’m Michelle Johnson and I am the feature twirler here at USC! I am a freshman majoring in Philosophy, Politics and Law on the pre-law track and am thrilled to be a part of the Trojan Marching Band this year!

Growing up as a Trojan fan made my choice to attend USC an easy one. The school spirit—especially the Spirit of Troy—along with its outstanding academics and alumni support, sets USC apart. From Saturday game days as a kid to my first campus tour during my junior year of high school, USC has always felt like a home away from home for me.

One of my favorite memories so far was pregame in Vegas during the USC v. LSU game. Marching down the field during Conquest while hearing the horn calls echo throughout Allegiant Stadium was unforgettable. It was the most packed the stadium had ever been, and performing for all those enthusiastic fans was incredible!

I’ve always looked up to the twirlers at USC, often visiting the then Cromwell Field to watch the band rehearse before the games— I still remember how excited I was to get autographs and photos with former twirlers Beverly and Alex! The Spirit of Troy lives up to its reputation as the greatest marching band in the history of the universe and I am honored to be part of this tradition.

Fight On!
