Jam with the SC Basketball Band
On behalf of the USC Trojan Basketball Band, we are excited to present to you our 2nd annual: “Jam with the SC Band” event. We cordially invite directors to nominate 2-3 current 10th and 11th grade students who play woodwind and brass instruments to join the ranks of the Trojan Basketball Band for a day!

What to Bring
Event Overview
- To participate, students will need to be nominated by their band director.
- Open to current 10th-11th grade band students who play woodwind & brass instruments. No percussion/drumline due to spacing in the Galen Center.
- Students will learn and perform signature school songs and rock charts with current members during the Basketball game.
- Students will receive a special “Jam with the SC Band” t-shirt along with a meal (pizza) before or during the game, all at no cost to the student or school.
Registration
Thank you for your interest in Jam with the SC Band. In order to participate, we ask that only directors nominate eligible students in the form below. Your form response is subject to further contact and verification.

General Info
Check-in
- Check-in will begin in the downstairs in lobby of the USC Lyon Recreation Center: 1026 W. 34th St. Los Angeles, CA 90089.
- Once checked in, students will be escorted to the rehearsal hall and begin the day with a USC info session. Directors/Parents are welcome to remain in the Band Pavilion (located on the second floor of the Lyon Center) for the duration of that session. The session will begin at TBD.
Parking

- You may also use street parking along W Jefferson Blvd near McClintock.
Attending the Game
- All parents, family, and/or friends will be able to attend the game free of charge.
- The Galen Center has a clear bag policy. More details and info can be found below:
- Students will be storing their cases and backpacks in the Band Pavilion at the Lyon Center.

Students
- Please eat breakfast before arriving.
- Students will need to bring their own instrument/equipment. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide any instruments.
- We will pass out music booklets during check-in for Woodwind and Brass players.
- Woodwind players will need to bring a lyre.
- Brass players will receive a music book but can read music electronically through their cellphone if they choose to. No lyre will be needed if you have a smartphone (be sure it is fully charged).
- Students are asked to wear blue jeans to be worn with the “Jam with the SC Band” t-shirt that will be provided.
What to Bring
- Own instrument/equipment. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide instruments.
- Players will need music lyre (we will provide music/flip folder at registration).
- Brass players may use their cell phone for music instead. No lyre needed if you have a smartphone.
- Blue jeans to wear during the game. T-shirt will be provided.
- Lunch, but only if pizza or the provided alternatives are not suitable for your personal dietary restrictions. We will have gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options available.
