Sean Jenkins

Sean Jenkins earned his B.M. in Music Education from USC in 1996. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Jenkins participated in the TMB with the Tuba section, and then later served as the Drum Major for three seasons. Since 1997, he has been a band director at the high school and junior high school levels. Mr. Jenkins’s groups have earned a reputation for a high level of technical proficiency and performance ability by receiving several awards and high ratings at marching band competitions and concert festivals throughout Southern California.

Mr. Jenkins completed his Master of Music Education degree at the USC Thornton School of Music in 2007, writing his thesis, “Marching Technique for Wind Instruments.” He is now in the process of working on a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Teaching and Learning.

In 2002, Mr. Jenkins returned to the TMB as a Teaching Assistant, has served as an Assistant Director from 2006 to 2009 and is now a Field Instructor and Drill Editor for the Trojan Marching Band. Alongside the Assistant Directors, Mr. Jenkins is responsible for coordinating the staff of teaching assistants, communicating directly with the director regarding instruction and training the band leadership. He is also responsible for writing drill, running rehearsals and performances when instructed by the Director.
